Gladsheim

Gladsheim (meaning ‘place of joy’ in old Norse), offers the perfect romantic retreat with everything including the luxurious four poster bed.

A first-choice top quality romantic holiday is certainly what you get in Gladsheim. Additionally, it is difficult to rival its location in the Highlands, just yards from the shore of Loch Ness.

This first-floor, one bedroom self-catering apartment is in the Raven Wing. Formerly the science block of the Fort Augustus Abbey Boys School, it has also seen some fantastic renovations. Gladsheim features modern comforts and conveniences within the historic setting of the abbey and its grounds.

Ceud Mille Failte

This comfortable family holiday apartment is situated in the former science block of the school wing. Stylish contemporary furnishings will make your stay both memorable and relaxing. Memorable holidays at an affordable price. Short breaks are available in this Loch Ness holiday accommodation.

Although situated in the Raven Wing, access to Ceud Mille Failte is via the Moat House. It is found along the spectacular and well preserved Cloisters and Cloister Garden.

As a guest of Ceud Mille Failte, you will most certainly have access to all the facilities here. Facilities include the loch-side Boat House Restaurant, tennis court, outdoor and indoor table tennis. There is also the giant chess set in the cloister gardens.

The Caledonian Canal, the River Tarrf and the western shores of Loch Ness surround the private landscapes and gardens. Within the grounds there is also outdoor seating, tables and BBQ areas for your use.

Laphroaig

Laphroaig is a beautifully spacious 2-bedroom holiday rental accommodation situated in the former Fort Augustus Abbey, Loch Ness.

Laphroaig has views over the gardens, tennis court, Caledonian Canal and also the Great Glen Hills. The apartment is on the ground floor of the Highland Club, with a few steps up from the entrance to the Old School so is reasonably easily accessible. The Ross

The Ross is a fabulous two bedroom, two bathroom holiday apartment. It sits on the second floor at the top of the Moat House, one of the original and more architecturally stimulating buildings in the abbey at Fort Augustus, Loch Ness. The apartment also has excellent views all round the cloisters and the cricket field to Fort Augustus village and the hills beyond.

The Ross is rather warm and cosy throughout the year; it is therefore an ideal base for a family holiday or enjoying quality time with friends.

Activities

Walking, riding, canoeing –  there are no limits for things to to.

For many, holidays are for relaxing and The Ross is a rather quiet place to enjoy the refinary and relaxing atmosphere of this historic Abbey. Alternatively, you can use your holiday here for fun and adventure on and around Loch Ness.

Furnishings are very comfortable and the rooms spacious, retaining many of the original Abbey features so you never forget what a lovely building you are staying in. The windows in the master bedroom for example – you will sit up in bed staring at the windows, not so much through them, but upon them, as they are so beautifully crafted.

There also a butcher’s, tourist information, visitor centre, petrol station and several gift shops. In addition to the Boathouse restaurant in the grounds of the Abbey, there are numerous places to eat in the village. The famous Caledonian Canal was built by Thomas Telford and runs through the centre of the village. Watching boats going up and down the ladder of 5 locks is the perfect way to while away the time. The floodlit locks at night is a rather spectacular sight. Boat trips leave the village regularly while there is a bus service to Inverness and Fort William.

The master bedroom, with en suite bathroom, is unique in Majors Apartment as it gives a window view. This is of the grounds of the Abbey towards the slightly wooded entrance. The second bedroom and the twin bedroom have excellent ventilation and are well lit considering their location at the back end of the apartment.

with high quality power shower, and fittings. This room was once the Gunpowder Store in the days of the fort as evidenced by the pretend window on the outside to disguise its use.

Moat House 1

Moat House1; a luxury two bedroom, Loch Ness holiday apartment situated in the Moat House of Fort Augustus Abbey.

When booking for Chrismas and New Year please do not book to arrive on  the 25th or 26th of December as no check in will be avaiable.  This does not apply to all apartments.

This luxury Loch Ness holiday apartment is in the Moat House beside the front entrance. From the twin bedroom and the living room in Moat House 1 you can enjoy views across the expansive cricket field and tree lined avenues of the Highland Club.

Originally part of the Fort Augustus gun powder store built around 1729 by General Wade, it has since been carefully renovated to a high standard. It still incorporates many original architectural features.

Staying in Moat House 1, you are just a rather short walk from the shore of Loch Ness, home to the famous monster, the Caledonian Canal and the Great Glen way. The fabulous location of this apartment makes it an ideal central point for exploring the Highlands and Islands by car. Additionally, the Ben Nevis range and Aonach Mor Gondola are less than an hour away.
