What is The Highland Club?

The Highland Club is a series of 109 luxury apartments that are mostly for holiday rentals.  Around 200 years ago, the English thought it a good idea to create a stronghold in the Highlands. The Jacobites and the English fought to hold control in, arguably, a central point in the Highlands. The fort became St Benedictine’s Abbey when the Lovat Estate donated it to the monks. The early 90’s saw the abbey close and become a small heritage exhibition and then a development by the Santon Group.

Is The Highland Club a hotel?

The Highland Club is made up of 109 self-catering apartments, which are individually owned. The majority of the apartments are for holiday rental, while a few are residential.

What is self-catering?

Self-catering is a holiday or vacation rental that is growing in popularity. It is a term we use to describe hiring a cottage or apartment for a set number of people for a set period of time. The accommodation includes a range of “home from home” conveniences so you can cook your own food for example. The idea is to give you the maximum amount of flexibility during your holiday. You can come and go as you please and have no time restrictions other than check-in and check-out.

Can we bring our dog?

There are some cottages that will allow dogs. You may not bring your dog into the Abbey but you can walk around the grounds. Rules and conditions do apply to this. To see which cottages are animal friendly, go to the “search availability bar” and tick the “advanced search” box.

Can anyone use the Highland Club facilities?

The Highland Club facilities are private and open to owners and self catering visitors to the Highland Club. If necessary, show a member of staff your apartment key.

What is the best way to travel to The Highland Club?
