Scriptorium Retreat

Scriptorium Retreat – once the secret ‘writing room’ of the monastery – now forms the very special framework of a unique one bedroom apartment on 2 floors with many original features.

This is a self-catering apartment for two. Scriptorium Retreat is also one of the very few in the abbey totally detached from other apartments.

All facilities of Highland Club Scotland are included; such as The Club Lounge in the former refectory with full-sized snooker table, Mini Gym, Tennis Court and so much more to explore!!!

Lochside Library

Sitting on the ground floor of the St Benedict’s Abbey is Lochside Library. It is one in a row of four properties facing the world famous Loch Ness.

Lochside Library is a prominent part of the Abbey’s history here; its name describes it perfectly because before the renovation works it was part of the library which famously housed a register signed by Mary Queen of Scots; a rather unique claim to fame! Also, it has access directly to the Cloister Corridors; so you can step from one beautiful area to another through the original double solid oak doors.

Since its renovation, Lochside Library has only been in occasional private use so retains its high quality finishings, furnishings and freshness; although the new owners of Lochside Library have already been adding their unique taste to this quality high end apartment.

From the beautiful living room you have a stunning view of the Loch across the Monastery Gardens. You can also see the Caledonian Canal and the River Oich running into the Loch giving as perfect a daytime view as you could want! It doesn’t end there though as the mezzanine master bedroom offers the same glorious view. Furthermore, the windows stretch up to its four metre high ceiling enhancing the feeling of spaciouness in this sizable apartment.

Canon Point is a welcome addition to our portfolio of apartments at the Highland Club. This excellent apartment has recently been taken over by a new owner and has since been given some special attention, making it a worthwhile consideration for your holiday in Loch Ness.

This modern and spacious apartment represents excellent value for money for family holidays, friends or couples. Sitting in the Old Armoury of the Fort, Canon Point looks towards the Club Lounge and a courtyard terrace.

As with all bookings at The Highland Club, Canon Point offers access to the heated swimming pool (for a small premium), gym, tennis court and adventure playground. It is one minute away from the on site Boat House restaurant, sitting at the foot of Loch Ness.
