The Old School History and Information

The Old School front entranceCompletely renovated this part of the abbey provides a selection of exclusive holiday homes just yards from the lake Loch Ness.

The Old School part of the abbey along with the Moat House were first buildings to be finished renovating by the developers Raven. It was completed in December 2006 and is made up of fifteen two and three bedroom holiday apartments on three floors. Some look out over the cloisters and across to the Monastery and the hills of the Great Glen beyond. Some look across the abbey grounds towards the village of Fort Augustus and the top floors have views of the Caledonin Canal to the west. the Caledonian canal forms the western boundary of the abbey grounds.

The stunning feature of the Old School building is the fabulous entrance,"the front door" under the clock tower, and then inside this fabulous wide staircase with carved bannsiter. Each apartment has its own allocated car parking outside the clock tower. The building looks out across lawns to the Caledonian Canal and on the other side the Old School forms the west side of the Cloisters so properties on one side of the old school have views across the grounds towards the Caledonian canal and enjoy the sunsets, and apartments on the other side of the Old School have view over the cloisters to the hills beyond and enjoy nice sunny apartments throughout the day.
