Fort Augustus Abbey is, without doubt, one of the finest old buildings in the north of Scotland with a fascinating history, turbulent at times, starting out as a military garrison and, ironically perhaps, later converted into a place of  peace by St Benedictine monks. Fort Augustus Abbey is just 30 minutes drive from Inverness. Excellent road, rail and air links provide easy access. A flight from London takes a little under 90 minutes. The abbey at Fort Augustus is located at the southern end of Loch Ness in twenty acres of beautiful garden grounds on the shoreline of Loch Ness.

Pets Welcome Cottages

Pets are allowed in the riverside cottages, at the owners discretion.  Dog owners may also consider booking one of the Cottages Elite, three of which welcome pets:
Taigh Geal - Hazelgrove Cottage and  Aspenwood Cottage
Pets are not allowed in abbey apartments.
