Loch Ness an Introduction for Self Catering Holidays

A first look at the map of Scotland, Loch Ness looks a very long way north!  Lots of people visit Scotland and only ever get as far north as the Capital city of Edinburgh and Glasgow. Whilst we acknowledge that Edinburgh is a beautiful city not to be missed by any visitor to Scotland, we also know that the Highlands of legend, the ruggedly beautiful remote parts of Wilderness Scotland only start to reveal themselves once north of Edinburgh.

A flight from London will have you in Inverness in about 90 minutes! from Inverness airport it is just 30 minutes drive to Loch Ness where most of our Elite self catering cottages are situated. See our Travel page with information and airport, car hire links.

You can drive to Loch Ness in 3 hours from Edinburgh or Glasgow. The drive north from Edinburgh must be one of the most exhilarating journeys on the planet - with each passing mile the roads become clearer, the scenery more beautiful and the wide open spaces makes you feel like you are on another planet. Your troubles are left far behind and with every passing mile the scenery becomes more dramatic.

Arriving at Loch Ness is no less dramatic and there are hundreds of descriptions about it being the largest, the deepest the most mysterious and so on you have probably read many times before you undertook the journey so we dont attempt to repeat what has been said so many times before.

We simply provide the very best self catering accommodation around Loch Ness so that you can enjoy the place and all it has to offer without having any unexpected disappointments with your chosen cottage. We are also aware that finding high quality cottages that allow pets are hard to find so we always encourage property owners to make pets welcome, especially as Loch Ness is such an excellent location for dog walking with miles and miles of forest and hill trails walk, or in the dogs case, run!
